FAQs
What's the difference between Soy Wax and Paraffin Wax?
- Soy wax is made from vegetables while paraffin wax is made from a gasoline by product. Soy wax is 100% biodegradable and release fragrance much easier than paraffin.
Why do you use wood wicks and not cotton wicks?
- Wood wicks produce less carbon buildup in comparison to cotton wicks. Wooden wicks also have a natural crackle when burning for a more relaxed environment. Cotton wicks can be dangerous if not properly trimmed; whereas with wood wicks, it is easy to just break off the burnt pieces and light it.
Are these candles safe around sensitive groups like asthmatics, pets and babies?
- These candles are a safer alternative to many big brands that are on the market. For some big brands the main concern is maxi- mum scent throw when lit and not the affect on the consumer. T.CAY's main focus is on sensitive groups. So we make sure to use the best products to achieve this goal! Free of paraffin and petroleum from the wax. Free of phthalates from the fragrance oil. Free of lead from the wicks.
Why won't my wood wick stay lit?
- Wood wicks can be stubborn sometimes. So on your first time lighting them, it might take a couple tries because they are a natural wick. After the first light, make sure to break off the burnt pieces for proper usage. Email us at t.caycompany@gmail.com if you still have questions.
Why is there wax on the perimeter of the glass?
- Soy wax has a memory. The first time you burn your candle you're supposed to achieve a complete melt pool (entire perimeter) of the glass. If you don't achieve a full melt pool, the next burn and so on will follow that pool diameter.
Can I use the leftover wax from the candles in a wax melter or oil burner?
- I would not recommend to take the wax from the candle and melt it that way. Sometimes the wax does not get hot enough using that method. However, for some people it does work. I would recommend just buying our wax melts.
How can I get the left over wax from the jar and reuse the jar?
- If you want to reuse the container you can boil hot water and pour into the candle container. Please be careful, because the glass will be hot. Once the wax floats and the jar has cooled throw the wax away and wipe out with a little rubbing alcohol and reuse! DO NOT POUR OR DROP THE WAX DOWN THE SINK!
